E-Rupee is basically a digital  voucher that a beneficiary receives on his/her phone  in the form of SMS or QR code. 

This is a  prepaid  voucher,  which  he can  use at any  center that accepts it.  So its great move in financials

Initially, National Payments Corporation of India has tied up with over 1,600 hospitals where e-Rupee can be redeemed.

Experts say that the use base of e-rupee is expected to widen in the coming days. Even the private sector will be able to use it to pass on benefits to their employees.

Micro, small and medium industries will also be able to adopt it for business to business transactions.

Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced that the limit of e-rupee digital voucher has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
